I was reading it and the first couple is adorable. They basically grow up together and the Hybrid becomes the more responsible, more looked up to one. I find it funny. The characters have a surprising amount of depth to them. This manga exceeded my expectations with just the first couple.

So now, the second couple. I think the second couple was really rushed and it sort of seemed a bit more awkward than the rest of her work all together. I liked the couple, but it reminded me terribly of Junjou Terrorist and I just- I hated that couple. So the second couple is a bit awkward and rushed, but it was a good idea.

Now… the last couple.

So basically this couple blew every other couple in all of her series out of the water (and possibly into space where they gravitated into the sun) This couple was probably my favorite. This couple even beat Junjou Minimum in my book of favorite couples. The depth to this couple is so believable. It takes the basic “boy teases the girl he likes” and times it by 10. I really think she went out of her comfort zone to create this couple. Not that I know the author, but with every other couple she made (Junjou Romantica/Sekaiichi Hatsukoi) no character has actually died. There are the heart-breakers (Junjou Minimum) The grudge-holders (Onodera and Takano) and finally there’s the literal ‘to death do us part’. It’s terrible because they weren’t married, that extra I read made it worse because it confirmed beyond a doubt that their feelings were mutual, and in the end- the couple (which isn’t a couple at this point) still manages to break my heart into tiny shards and dig them into my soul. When the little prototype says “I wanted to give this to you because you like flowers” (or something like that don’t quote me) I literally started crying. I can’t even properly explain how amazed I am at this couple. The author did an amazing job.

I can’t recommend this manga enough. Please read it, if you’ve read her other works. This is by far the most compelling thing I’ve ever read by her. The emotions in the manga are strong and the characters are without a doubt realistic, round characters you just have to fall in love with. Everything ties in at the end, too. Everything is a big loop from the man who created the dolls himself, to his best friend having a doll- to one of his first models acting as real as can be and confessing that the dolls do have a heart. 

I saw this was becoming an anime short or something, I can’t stress this enough…

I HOPE THEY DON’T SCREW IT UP

If they change the story in the slightest (unless the change was made by the author themselves) I will be disappointed. 

On a brighter note, I can’t wait to hear the voices they choose! I hope their art style is the same (or better) than the new Junjou OVA coming out! I’m gonna have to buy Junjou to help them make it faster ^^
